Woke up at 6:30 this morning and can't go back to bed!

Alright, so here's the deal for tomorrow. Everyone's gotta be there by 12:30. If you want to get some swings in beforehand I suggest you get there by 12. This gives us time to have the putting/chipping contests and have the Lido rep talk to us beforehand as well. I'll be in the parking lot so just come find me or the truck (blue jeep cherokee with Hofstra lacrosse sticker on the back). If I'm not there just call me, I'll have my phone on me the whole time. As for the shirts, you don't have to wear them tomorrow. Some guys choose to wear them, some guys don't, it doesn't matter. I'll just think less of you if you don't, no big deal. Everyone gets one so make sure you get it when you show up. Mike Unterstein, Gorman, Jacovina, and Steroid Ted are the first group to tee off. I'd suggest that everyone watches them tee off to make them nervous. I know Mike is already, and I'm having him tee off first so it would be awesome if everyone watched him! Just know that if you do start to heckle him and you see a guy named Ted running after you, you better run b/c he'll rip your head off easily.

Anyway, while your on the course make sure you guys don't crash the carts b/c if you damage them, guess who's paying for them...... you! So just know whatever you damage, you are paying for.

Remember to take a couple beers for the front 9 and then at the turn take a couple more for the back 9 so you have cold beers while you play. Also, as for the 15th hole closest to the pin, EVERYONE MUST FUNNEL A BEER BEFORE THEY HIT THEIR TEE SHOT!! You don't have to shoot right after you funnel it, just make sure you do one funnel before you hit your shot that's it. The last group (Rogers, Walter, Eric, 7 Rob) has to remember to take the funnel in with them along with the contest pins. If the winner of the closest to the pin didn't funnel a beer, then he doesn't win, the guy who came in 2nd will get the prize. Kinda like Reggie Bush's heisman trophy going to Vince Young now. You cheat, you lose your prize!

Once you are done with the round, BRING YOUR SCORECARDS TO GORMAN'S HOUSE!! I'll collect them when I get there and figure out which foursome won the 1st ever Dutch Dome Cup!

Afterwards, head to Gorman's house (560 West Fulton Street) but don't drink and drive. LB cops are all over long beach so be careful with that. The cab number for Long Beach is 516-432-5200. Put that into your phone. There are a couple guys that aren't getting wasted and will be driving so maybe if people stick around they will make a couple trips for everyone. If not, it's $5.50 per person for a cab ride in LB.

After that it is on to the Dutch Dome Open Drinking Games! Foursome Flip Cup Tournament, Beer Pong, Beer Die, you name it and we'll play it. Whatever bar we crawl into tomorrow night isn't gonna have a clue for what they are in store for, I can't wait.

I know everyone is pumped for tomorrow and so am I. Once 1pm hits, my only concern will be to get drunk. I won't have to worry about anything else, unless we get kicked off, then I'll go back to worrying again. Just know that my name is on everything for this outing, if you f*ck shit up on the course that really screws me over big time. So just watch yourselves out there and remember if you see someone driving a cart with no golf bags on the back of it, act right because he/she works for Lido.

I'm buying everything friday night and saturday morning so make sure you pay me saturday. If you don't show up saturday you are a huge scumbag and a complete asshole and everyone will know that. I'll be furious and don't give me any excuses either, I don't want to hear it b/c that's real f*cked up if you don't show up.

As for the guys who already paid me, thank you, I really appreciate it and makes my life a little easier. Obviously this year was a lot more hectic b/c we had double the amount of guys but once 1pm hits I'll be nice and relaxed and drunk. Until that point, don't mind me being a doosh until I get all the money from everyone. I'm gonna try and get there around 1145-12pm. I need everyone to be there by 1230 so we can have our putting & chipping contests and have the Lido rep speak to us. I'll be doing shit for the outing at like 9am on saturday so the least you can do is show up on time. If you have a tee time later in the day, who cares, have some beers, watch the guys before you attempt to tee off, or go to the range and hit some balls. There is plenty of shit to do before. The last group tees off at 2:15 I think.

I'm thinking Partly Cloudy is a good thing for us. If we were drinking in the sun for 8 hours we all wouldn't finish 18 holes, but partly cloudy is a great thing for us.

I'll be posting the tee times the day before as a reminder for everyone. You guys should get there between 12-12:30. The guy in charge at Lido will be talking to us before our 1pm tee off about our conduct and the tournament format (best ball scramble). If you don't know what best ball is ask me on the day of and I'll let you know. It's real simple and the best way to play a tournament. Even if you suck, which most of us do, you'll be able to contribute.

Best Ball Scramble Rules
1. Every player tees off every hole. As a team, decide which ball to use after every player has teed off. You must use 2 tee shots from each player.
2. After selecting the tee shot, everyone must hit their next shot within a club's length from where the previous shot landed. If the ball is in the rough, each player must hit their shot from the rough. When the ball is on the green, each person putts from that exact spot. Each player will hit future shots from the same best position until your team has finished the hole.

As for the BBQ, I'll take any suggestions for drinking games for golf towels. Right now we're having a foursome flip cup tournament and then a beer pong tourny. Any suggestions, let me know so I can add them in. We'll have 4 golf towels left for prizes.

Gettin a little pissed now

It's 5 days before the outing and I have money from less than half of the people. Are you guys shitting me? We're grown men here I mean holy shit, I got money from 21 people out of the 45. (1 more person canceled today) Now all of you are getting me nervous about who's gonna show up or not b/c half of you haven't paid yet. I need the money by thursday night. Make sure you get it to me, I don't care how you get it to me just do it. All of the people that owe me the money live on long island. Drive to Wantagh and drop it off in my mailbox, don't mail them anymore b/c they won't get to me in time. Some of you may be getting annoyed about me asking for the money, well here's a simple solution.... just give it to me already and then I won't bother you anymore!


I will give props to the young'ns though. Out of the 21 people that have paid 11 of them are the young guns and rookies to the DDO. So far they are showing everyone else up and we haven't even played golf yet. Thanks.

Went to the range today and holy shit I sucked. I couldn't drive the ball to save my life today. I can basically kiss the longest drive goodbye. Not happy with my 1st practice session of the week, hopefully all of yours is even worse so I can still win. Looks like the booze won't hurt my game as bad as I thought, might even make it better.

Don't have much to update on except that I still don't have money from over half of you. At least the weather is lookin good for now.

Weather reports suck. I have one site tellin me there will be no rain and mostly sunny. Then I have 2 sites that tell me it'll rain. So here's the updated groups as of today (July 22nd) and your tee times. Everyone needs to be there before 1pm though. The lido rep is gonna speak to us before and I wouldn't mind getting a group picture either. I plan on getting there around 1145-12. I got a lot of running around to do that morning unless I'd be there sooner. I'm sure everyone will be hungover from the night before and won't get there before noon anyway. So try and get there around noon so we call can have a couple beers in the parking lot before we start.

After Party

This is where the 2010 Dutch Dome Open's after party is gonna be held. Trust me all of you will only have flashes of this if the event turns out to be a success. It's not even 10 min from the course and, most importantly, it's walking distance to the bars.

The address is 560 West Fulton Street. From Lido Golf Course you go west (right) out of the parking lot and drive approx 3 miles and make a right onto Washington Blvd and then make a left on W. Fulton street. Then you look on the left side, closer to the end of the block, for the drunkest people in Long Beach that day and that's the house!

So if you figure there are 7.5 cases of beer in each keg, that's 360 beers for the after party. Add that with the 400+ beers that I'm gonna buy for golf that's over 750 beers!! I expect every single one of them to be gone.

30 Guys still haven't paid me and we are a week and a half away. C'mon fellas that's awful. I gotta do a lot of shopping next week for this outing. I gotta get the kegs, beers, food, ice, cups, plates, and all that crap, all next week and on the day of the outing. Get me the money ASAP!

Flip Cup

So there are gonna be 10 Dutch Dome Open Golf Towels to be won at the DDO After party at Gorman's house. One way to win them will be with the "DDO Foursome Flip Cup Tournament." We have 12 foursomes (technically 11 with 1 threesome but someone on that team will double up) so we will have a bracket for the tournament. The foursome's best ball score will determine the seedings for the tournament. The #1 seed goes to the top overall score for the outing and the #12 seed will go to the worst score in the outing. The top 4 teams will have a bye in the 1st round and its single elimination. Each round will be best of 5 games series, so the 1st team to win 3 games will advance. The champions will each win a DDO Golf Towel.

This guy means business this year, haha, so all we gotta do is just be a little discrete with all the beers in our bags while they set up the carts for us. In the beginning, I'll have everyone put beers in their bags and then after the 9th hole I'm gonna keep my truck open so people can grab more. I'm looking to get somewhere around 500 beers so we shouldn't have a problem whatsoever with the beers. I already worked out a plan with regards to the funnel and arranged the closest to the pin to be on the back 9 and on the 15th hole.

So Jared Allen had his own golf outing this past weekend and it sounds like it was awesome.

"But with Allen in charge of this thing, no way it was going to be a solemn affair. Long known as one of the game's free spirits, Allen took his own unique view on life and applied it to what he hoped wouldn't be "another (lame) golf tournament." Some duffers received different consequences — UFC star Chuck "Iceman" Liddell had to blast through a Slip-and-Slide after failing to reach the green in regulation on the 14th hole. And the shotgun start at 3:30 p.m. insured that there would be nine holes of night golf. There was also a Hole-in-One contest ... at 10:30 p.m. A great time was had by all, and it was an excellent example of Allen's own attitude towards life as personified by the mullet he doesn't wear anymore — he's still "business in front, and party (with two 'Rs') in the back," and he still gets extra mayonnaise every time.

First, I want to make a reference to the 1st Hofstra Lacrosse outing at Lido Golf Course, the Miller family broke out into a fist fight. Dean got his ass kicked and as he was putting Ryan and Patrick would be punching him. He had a bloody nose coming into the reception after, it was the greatest thing I've ever seen at a golf outing. Granted last year had a lot of better moments, but I don't remember them. I would love to do shit like this but I'm not a celebrity. Maybe if our "professional athlete" friends would take a little out of their million dollar salaries we could do it. ME guys, that's what they are. Anyway, after reading this I still think our outing is gonna be better. Funnels at the Closest to the Pin and boozing all day will easily lead to a shitshow and awesome camera moments. I'll be bringing my camera again this year but I'll be taking a lot of pictures because last year that was the only way I was able to get "flashes" of the outing was through my camera.

New Shit!!

Okay, so I thought of some more ideas for prizes and this will be the last of them.

Each member of the winning foursome will each get a Nike Dri-Fit White Golf Polo that have "2010 Dutch Dome Open Champions" on them. As for a chance for others to win prizes I got a dozen (12 for all you scholars out there) Dutch Dome Golf Towels. I'm thinking I'm gonna have a bunch of contests to win these towels. Lido has a chipping green and a putting green to practice on so those will be our contest areas. I'm gonna pick a spot where you gotta either putt or chip from and the person who is closest to the hole wins a towel, plain and simple. Each person will do this before they tee off. For the other 10 towels, we're gonna have a foursome flip cup tournament, a beer pong tournament, and any other drinking game we can think of at the moment to win towels.

So that's it for the prizes for the 2nd Annual Dutch Dome Open. So even if you totally suck at golf, you can still win a prize so don't you worry. Obviously, the winning foursome gets the most prizes (Dutch Dome Cup, Custom Nike Golf Balls, Winning Shirts) b/c well that is the biggest achievement for the outing. The longest drive and closest to the pin prizes (2010 TaylorMade Golf bag in Hofstra colors) are ridiculous and that's what most people will be gunning for I know it. I added the towels so everyone has a bunch of chances at winning something at the DDO. Get your practice rounds in boys!! 18 days!
