Dutch Dome Cup

Side Note: This thing isn't as strong as I thought it would be for the money I paid for it. I'm gonna say that this thing stands no chance once we're all drunk drinking out of it at the after party. I will be very surprised if it lasts.

We're definitely getting kicked off the course

So as I am talking to my teammate today, Patrick Miller, he brings to my attention one of the single most greatest ideas for the Dutch Dome Open. The closest pin is most likely on the 5th hole. It depends on where they tell me it is. Wherever Lido has the closest to the pin for us, these are the new rules. Each player MUST funnel a beer before you shoot. It doesn't have to be directly after you funnel but you must funnel a beer before you shoot your tee shot for the Closest To the Pin. I will need proof so, for now, the way I will know that everyone is funneling a beer will be by picture messages. Each foursome will have to send me pictures of each player funneling the beer for proof. If I don't get one of you, then you are out for the closest to the pin contest.

And you may ask, Tim are you going to have a Dutch Dome Open funnel? And my answer would be FUCK YEAH I'M GONNA HAVE A DUTCH DOME OPEN FUNNEL!! I'm working on it as I'm typing this that's how good at multitasking I am. I mean this is the greatest idea that I've heard this year by far. What a great teammate. So somehow we gotta sneak a funnel onto the course with Gorman's group b/c he's the 1st group. And from there on out, each foursome leaves the funnel at the tee box, not in plain sight so Lido doesn't see it. Each foursome from there on out has to funnel a beer and the last group will bring it back so we can use it at the after party as well. Wow, I didn't think it could happen but the DDO just stepped it up ONCE AGAIN this year!

Whichever tees have the most votes by July 31st is where we will play from at the Dutch Dome Open, so get your votes in. That's if you guys give a shit, even if you don't I mean click on one of them for god's sake. It takes not even a second out of your life, and if you are on the internet reading this blog that means you aren't busy at all. So vote.

Best Ball Score

So I'm real pumped that we are doing Best Ball this year. This makes the tournament go so much faster and a lot smoother. I've been to a couple golf outings that have had best ball as the system for the tournament and the top scores are usually really good. So that made me think of how the DDO's top score will be. I'm thinking it'll be over par but not by much. I really should do front 9 and back 9 b/c the front 9 scores will be good but the back 9, once the booze really starts to kick in, is when the scores go WAY up. I mean I shot a 42 on the front 9 last year and shot an 18 on the 10th hole alone. That's the challenging part of the Dutch Dome Open. Golf games usually go to shit on the back 9. We've got some ringers this year that actually are good at golf but my goal is to get them really drunk so my team can take home the 1st ever Dutch Dome Cup! 19 Days until the big day fellas, get those practice rounds in!

Filled to Capacity

Okay, so I ordered 48 shirts for the outing and last night I just got another foursome so that makes it 48 total people. We're filled. I could order more if for some reason more people wanna play but I think this is the final list. If more people do want to play then there, t-shirts just might not be in on time but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. So we went from 28 people last year to 48 people this year. Not too shabby fellas.

I'm still working on some more prizes for the outing to give everyone a lot of chances to win something, even if they suck at golf. I'll get back to you guys on that. That's it for now, gonna be a good day boys!!

Rules & Formats

Overall Score Rules:

Each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. You must use at least 2 of each member’s tee shots throughout the round.

Closest to The Pin Rules:

This was on the 5^th hole last year which is a 135yd (white tees) par 3. In order for your shot to be involved in the competition your FIRST AND ONLY tee shot has to be on the green. There will be a marker on the green for you to mark where your ball landed. First, write your name on the marker, there will be a sheet to write your name on the marker itself. The closest shot after the last foursome tees off will win the contest and the golf bag.

Longest Drive:

This will be on the 500yd par-5 12^th hole. Again, YOUR FIRST AND ONLY, tee shot must land in the fairway in order to be involved in the competition. It will be the same marker as the closest to the pin. All you have to do is mark where your ball landed in the fairway and write your name, that’s it.

I am working on getting someone who works at Lido to be at the 12^th hole to watch everyone tee off b/c I know you are all a bunch of scumbags and will cheat, which is sad. If there is any debate to whether or not you took more than one shot, guess what doosh, you aren’t getting the bag. Since this year’s prizes are legit, we gotta do it right. With the closest to the pin, the 6^th hole tee box is right next to the par 3 green so everyone will be able to watch where the tee shots land and eliminating any chance for someone to cheat.

Last year we played from the White tees and I’m assuming we’ll do the same this year. If not, I’ll let everyone know before we start the tournament.

BASIC RULES:

Okay, so last year we all know what happened and this year Lido is gonna be watching us throughout the day. He’ll be having guys driving around like they usually do but might be a little more this year b/c of our outing last year. Last year he let us bring all the beer we wanted to as long as we didn’t have coolers. So DON’T BRING ANY COOLERS b/c you can’t use them. They let us stuff as many beers as we could in our bags and shoe bags and some kids even gave us trash bags and ice to fill. I know for one thing, they won’t allow a handle of Vodka again. So another thing, DON’T BRING LIQUOR BOTTLES. Yes, I know that was my teammates who brought it so we’re all set with that.

As I say all this, don’t think we all aren’t getting shitfaced on the course b/c we are. We’re just gonna do it with a little more class this time. I promise I won’t “Achilles” throw the flag stick 30yds at my partner this year. Every golf outing involves a lot of drinking, they understand that, just last year we, I mean myself, went a little overboard.

This year will be even better than last year and the BBQ after will be an unbelievable shitshow. We’re playing every drinking game possible and won’t leave the house until the kegs are finished. I call first game beer pong, I called it so I got it. Those are the rules, Me & Chris have 1^st game.
